Start your day with this epic, nutritious, hearty breakfast dish of Israel, it's something of an institution there and shared in a large pot straight to the table of many families. At Heart Kitchen we love the fiery mix of flamed peppers, sweet cherry tomatoes, beans, garlic and authentic spices, cumin, caraway and smoky paprika all topped off with a layer of bakes eggs, serve with crispy toasted bread........ it's flipping epic.

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 1 hr
  • Yields: 1

1200 Grams Cherry tomatoes

800 Grams Flame roasted red & yellow peppers

1200 Grams Mixed Beans

300 Grams Pepperdew peppers

2-3 Cloves Plump heads of garlic

4 Large Bay leaves

1 tbsp Paprika

2 tsp Caraway seeds

2-3 tsp Ground cumin

1 Scattering Sea salt & freshly milled black pepper

10 Large Eggs

1 Handful Parsley

1-2 Small Sourdough loaves

This is a truly wonderful, simple and a totally delicious sharing dish.  Simply pre-heat your oven to 180c.  In a large ovenproof casserole pot add all the ingredients, except the eggs........that's roasted peppers drained of any oil, cherry tomatoes and all the juice, papperdews, drained of oil, 3 bean mix, the heads of garlic, all the spices and seasoning, give it a gentle stir and bake for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Crack the eggs onto the baked mixture with the lid off, baking for the final 10 minutes.  Serve with a dusting of paprika, freshly milled black pepper and a large handful of freshly chopped parsley. And share.....
