Bursting with flavour and simple and delicious dessert.........
- Prep: 20 mins

- Yields: 10 Small
Directions
- In a medium sauce pan melt the butter, sugars and syrup together, swirl occasionally to make sure everything is combined and let it simmer for 3 minutes until a lovely golden colour. Off the heat, pour in the cream and swirl again until combined, pour into a jug and leave to cool.
- Beat together all the sponge ingredients in a large bowl until pale and fluffy.
- Slice the apples and place in the base of the baking tray, pour the caramel over the apples. Spread the sponge mixture over the apples in a smooth even layer and bake for 30-35 minutes in a preheated oven at 180c until golden and well risen. Place a skewer in to test if cooked.
- Serve with some cream or custard. Enjoy.
