To make a sweet shortcrust pastry.
Start by be-ing in the zone, the ingrediants and the mixing bowl need to be chilled, and so do you, cooled hands, a smile and loads of love. In a large bowl, gently crumb together the sifted flour and cubed butter.  Add sugar and combine, add a beaten egg and bring together with your cooled  hands to form a soft dough, adding a dash of cold water if needed.  Wrap and chill for 1 hour until needed. Roll out your dough on a lightly floured cool surface to the desired size or shape, work with speed not haste ! ..... Bake.
This recipe will give you shortcrust pastry to line a 20-23cm pie or flan ring.
